Meet Samantha
Samantha Schmidt, FTR’s Founder and Managing Director, has been an Executive Recruiter for over a decade. After graduating from State University of New York at Geneseo and a successful sales and management career with Jenny Craig Weight Loss Centres, she found a new passion: recruiting. She learned a lot from recruiters she’d worked with—some good, some bad— during her own career switch, and she vowed to become the kind of recruiter she wished she’d found then.
After almost 20 years of sales and recruiting experience, Samantha’s learned that what makes a recruiter successful is to listen to clients/candidates and always get back to them. There's nothing worse than hearing from a recruiter one day and then never hearing from them again. Everyone needs closure, and whether the news is good or bad, it’s simply professional courtesy to let people who've contacted you for professional help know exactly what’s going on.
On the other hand, company officials she recruits for know that she works tirelessly to find the perfect candidate for each position, and that she’s professional, reliable and a pleasure to work with. That’s why Samantha now spends her days recruiting for most of the largest companies in this field, using the network she developed over a decade. She’s also helped build a number of startups.
